Cookies
Every cookie on this site, who sets it and why. Last updated .
The short version
- None of ours The site itself sets no cookies. What it remembers about you, such as scores and settings, sits in your browser’s storage and stays there.
- Analytics Google Analytics sets cookies so we can see anonymous usage patterns, catch errors and improve the site. We never sell your data.
- Ads Google AdSense sets cookies to show, cap and measure the ads that pay for the site and, if you agree, to personalise them.
- Your choice In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and ad cookies wait for your consent. You can change your choice at any time.
The cookies
All cookies on Office Break Games come from Google, which runs our analytics and our ads. Google decides their exact names and lifetimes and can change them; its current list is at Cookies used by Google’s advertising products.
| Cookie | Set by | What for | Lasts | Kind |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | A random id that tells a return visit from a new one | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_15N9NQC1ZG | Google Analytics | Keeps one visit’s pages together as a session | 2 years | Analytics |
__gads,__gpi | Google AdSense | Shows ads, limits how often you see the same one and measures them | 13 months | Ads |
__eoi | Google AdSense | Ad security and fraud prevention | 6 months | Ads |
IDE (doubleclick.net) | Personalised ads, only where you agreed to them | 13 months in the EEA and UK, 24 elsewhere | Ads | |
FCCDCF,FCNEC | Google consent message | Remembers your consent choices so you are not asked on every page | up to 13 months | Necessary |
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see Google’s consent message first. Until you agree, no analytics or ad cookies are set: Google Analytics receives only cookieless pings without an identifier, and only non-personalised or limited ads are shown. Elsewhere these cookies are set when the page loads.
What the site keeps in your browser
Your scores, best times, streaks, stamps, nickname, avatar, theme, language and break clock are kept in your browser’s localStorage, under keys starting with bg: (and theme). This is not a cookie: it is never sent along with requests, has no expiry date and is not shared with Google or anyone else. It is needed for the features you use, so the site does not ask for consent to it.
The full list of what is stored, and what little leaves your browser, is on the privacy page.
Your choices
- Consent: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the button below reopens Google’s consent message, where you can withdraw or change your choice.
- Analytics: Google’s opt-out browser add-on stops Google Analytics on every site.
- Ads: turn off personalised ads in Google’s My Ad Center.
- Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in its settings, or use a content blocker. The games work the same without them. Clearing all site data also wipes your scores, so export them first from your profile if you want to keep them.
